This exorbitant amount of habanero peppers marks the end of hot pepper season in the garden. We have pulled all hot pepper plants. We have left the Gypsy and Shishito peppers for another week before pulling them. The low temperatures are dropping next week we’ll see lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Peppers will not like that!
zucchini
The zucchini is on its last legs. I expect one more week of a trickle of squashes. They will really complain about the temps next week.
tomatoes
We should have one or two more harvests from tomatoes.
beans
The fresh green, yellow and purple beans are gone until next year.
radicchio
We harvested the first of the radicchio this week. You don’t need to panic yet as we are waiting for the rest of the early variety to form firm heads. We are not going to flood the walk-in with radicchio – yet!

delicata squash
We harvested the first of the delicata squashes yesterday. We are waiting for the rest of the plants to die and the stems to turn brown so that the squashes last longer in storage.

butternut squash, pumpkins and gourds
The butternut squash harvest is still in the future. We are also waiting for the pumpkin and gourd vines to die back before harvesting. This will happen soon.
Makah ozette
We are waiting for the potato vines to die back. The Makah Ozette is a late season potato which means we wait impatiently for the vines to die in late October.
fennel and leeks
We are harvesting fennel and leeks as needed.
celeriac
We have many, many celeriac roots to harvest.

We are gradually moving from the summer garden to the fall/winter garden. The event tent is down and the furniture stored. We are looking forward to harvesting radicchio, cauliflower, sun chokes, and more as we move through the year.
Come on out to see what else we have planted in the garden. -Anna
