Chefs Garden Entrance With Fresh Mulch

New mulch gives the Chef’s Garden entrance summer pizzazz, declaring that we are ready for summer events and visitors.

The bees are settling down to the serious business of gathering nectar and making honey.

Garlic Scapes

Chefs Garden Garlic Scapes

Garlic scapes are ready any time you want us to harvest some, let us know.

Lettuce & Micro-Greens

Chefs Garden Greenhouse Lettuce

Lettuce and micro-greens continue to grow well. We harvest as they are ready.

Herbs

You will have noticed that we are back in the herb business, except for dill and basil.

They are more tender and will not be ready for a few more weeks.

Fava Beans

The Fava beans froze out in January, so you have a reprieve for the year.

Garden Tilling Prep

Chefs Garden Dump Trailer

Yesterday, we finished pulling the flowering broccoli and kale in preparation for tilling, which will happen this coming week. We have been waiting for the soil to dry enough that we don’t create problems by getting stuck. The little dump trailer proved its worth, saving us many steps and, thus, time.

Parsley

Chefs Garden Parsley

The parsley is waiting to get into the ground. We have been harvesting it while it’s still in pots.

Garden Cats

Garden Cats

The cats have stepped up their rodent patrol business and frequently prove it by leaving us presents!

It’s much better for them to deal with mice than the gardeners!

Come on out to the Garden to see what else we have growing.
