Spring is the time that violas shine. These lovely edible flowers are scattered throughout the garden by self-seeding. We also deliberately planted some along the garden path for added colorful spring blooms.
Broccoli
I expect we will have some broccoli flowers this coming week if anyone is interested in using them.
The overwintered broccoli is rapidly coming to an end. The side shoots are diminishing in size. Plus, the warm temperatures this past week spurred their pace of moving from tight buds to open flowers.
Elephant Garlic

We have some volunteer elephant garlic if you would like to start thinking about how to use it. We will dig it before we rototill the garden sometime next month.
Lettuce
Lettuce is slowly gaining momentum. We cleared several of the stock tanks in the greenhouse and replanted them. They should be ready for the first harvest in a couple of weeks. Since we now have more than 12 hours of daylight, they are growing rapidly. In the not-too-distant future, we will be harvesting a lot of lettuce.
Radishes

We are planting radishes every week to have a steady supply of baby radishes. An ordinary pen is in the radish photo to give you an idea of the size of these beauties. We will harvest them next week at a larger size but will attempt to have some baby-sized radishes from the next planting.
Pea Shoots
Pea shoots are officially available. We will have them for about a month.
Miner's Lettuce
Miner’s lettuce is sending up flower stalks. All it took was three days of sunny weather for them to switch from growing leaves to growing flowers!
Tomato Seedlings
We started transplanting tomato seedlings. We will spend most of next week transplanting.
Come on out to the garden to see all the new growth!
