We have reached the longest day of the year at 15 hours and 39 minutes of daylight. Everything in the garden is growing and producing. In about a month, we should harvest the first zucchini. Then we will know for sure that it’s summertime. We made the hummingbirds happy since the crocosmia started blooming this week.
Microgreens
We have increased the amount of micro-greens that we are planting because we are falling behind. It’s good to see that they are being used. It will take a couple of weeks before we have a larger harvest.
Black Raspberries "Blackcaps"

After three years, we finally have ripe black raspberries, also known as Blackcaps. Only one plant survived, and it took three years for it to produce berries. We won’t have many berries to show for our efforts, so consider them a novelty this year.
Thyme
You should order thyme for a week or so. We cut back the older thyme planting after it flowered and are waiting for it to regrow. The thyme that we planted this year needs to grow more before we can harvest it. But that “time” is rapidly approaching.
purple kohlrabi

The purple kohlrabi put way too much energy into growing big leaves and less energy into producing a bulb. We are harvesting the kohlrabi each week as needed. We have a good amount left and will let you know when we are getting low.
Basil
We have been fussing over the basil, so it is looking better. We planted the holy basil this week to add to our lineup of basil varieties.
Elephant Garlic
We will be harvesting the elephant garlic soon. We will store it in the greenhouse until it is needed.
Come on out to the garden to see what else is growing and blooming.
