Kohlrabi

We are harvesting kohlrabi on demand. So far, we are staying ahead of the growth curve. We strive to bring you the young, tender, bulbs. As seen in this photo, we have purple, green, and also white-ish kohlrabi.
Lettuce

This is a small portion of the lettuce that was planted. We are diligently planting new seeds every week in an attempt to have an abundance of lettuce. We are working to provide as much lettuce as possible, which is why you see us coming in with tubs and tubs of mixed green and red lettuce.
Summer & Winter Squashes
The summer and winter squashes are up and growing. The melons and cucumbers also are up and growing. There’s no need to panic yet; we haven’t seen the first blossoms. I expect the first fruits in approximately four weeks.
Sweet Potato Slips

This year, we purchased sweet potato slips from a different seed company. So far, we are pleased as they are more vigorous. Now, our job is to guard them from Mr. and Mrs. Gopher and all of their kin! Harvest is at the end of September. However, if you would like to use the leaves or greens once they have reached their typical exuberant growth, we will remind you that they can be harvested.
Turnips & Daikon
We are towards the end of the turnips and daikon for the spring season. We have one good red tub full of each left in the ground, which we will probably harvest next week.
Peas

All good things must come to an end, and so it is with the peas. We had an excellent year for peas. They are a cool season crop, so now that we are into hotter weather, they say “Goodbye.”
Fava Beans
Also in the “finished” category are the fava beans.
They have been in the ground for eight months with a short, intense harvest season!
Come out to the garden to see what else we’re growing.
