Etzel\, then a wine salesman in Colorado Springs\, embarked on a road trip to Oregon with his young family after reading an enticing review of an ‘83 Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. Nestled in the Willamette Valley’s Ribbon Ridge viticultural area (est. 2005) near Newberg\, Oregon\, the property remains a perfect fit as a new generation\, led by Mike D. Etzel (Michael’s middle son)\, takes responsibility for stewarding the land and crafting the wines. More than thirty years since their serendipitous encounter with this landscape\, three generations of the Etzel family now live on the Ribbon Ridge\, diligently caring for this storied property.

For us\, the meaning is manifold. The vineyard follows our personal and professional passages through life; it follows a lifelong passion for wine; it follows family; it follows new love and new land\, and it follows the influence of each particular element of the growing season. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBetween 2012 and 2014 we planted the 12-acre Sequitur vineyard adjacent to the Beaux Freres Upper Terrace vineyard. Our vines are made up of 17 diverse clones of pinot noir and a small knoll of Chardonnay.

RSVPs are encouraged to reserve your spot\, though walk-ins are always welcome as space allows. \nAbout trisaetum winery\nFounded by James Frey and Andrea Lassa\, Trisaetum (tris-say-tum) is located in one of the few places where climate\, soil\, and entrepreneurial spirit combine to produce some very special wines. Coming from a background in abstract expressionist painting\, James Frey became a winemaker. Merging the spirit of both activities\, his work reflects its origins and environment. The Frey family would farm to preserve the natural habitat surrounding each vineyard and employ minimal intervention winemaking to ensure each bottle distinctly conveyed both site and vintage.

Élevée is French for “elevated” and is a reference to the importance of our elevated vineyard sites that all fall within a narrow elevation band ranging from 450ft to 800ft… the sweet spot in the Willamette Valley. We are Winegrowers… because to us\, our growing decisions are Winemaking decisions. Our Winemaking begins early in the year\, in the vineyard\, months before any grapes reach our winery facility. All our vineyards are LIVE Certified Sustainable or Demeter Certified Biodynamic\, we are “dry-farmed”\, full cover\, “no-till”\, and we do not use any herbicides. Our ultimate goal is to introduce you to the most beautiful\, dramatic\, and wonderfully diverse personalities of Pinot noir and German Origin Whites from Oregon’s Willamette Valley.  To achieve this we have identified\, and continue to identify\, the most diverse and dramatic environments to grow our grapes\, that promise to deliver wines with the most diverse and dramatic expressions

Jill & Brian O’Donnell established Belle Pente Vineyards in 1994\, and their wines are inspired by the exquisite wines of Burgundy and Alsace\, following the guiding principle that great wine is made in the vineyard and merely nurtured in the winery.
