The idea of Oregon wine was actively in the making\, emerging in real time through the daring efforts of people like Rollin and Corby and a diverse group of entrepreneurs who wanted nothing more than to produce world-class wines in an unproven but promising winegrowing region. They built wineries\, developed foundational industry organizations\, and worked to establish Oregon as the premier place to make Pinot Noir and Chardonnay outside of Europe.

This relaxed discussion offers a deeper look into their craft\, from vineyard to cellar\, with time for thoughtful dialogue and open questions. \nabout tom fitzpatrick\nAfter stints making wine in Washington State\, New Zealand\, and Napa Valley\, Tom completed his master’s degree in Viticulture & Enology at UC Davis before moving to France to make wine in the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy.  Working the vineyards of Chambolle-Musigny\, Morey-St-Denis\, and Gevrey-Chambertin greatly inspired and informed Tom’s approach. \nTom and his wife finally settled in Oregon in 2007\, where they began building Élevée Winegrowers from scratch\, while Tom worked as Associate Winemaker for Hamacher Wines and then Winemaker & General Manager for Alloro Vineyard\, where he has earned numerous awards for his wines.
